Will This Become the Gold Standard for Birth Control?

0

by thepleasurechest

gold

A few months ago, we told you about RISUG, a promising male birth control method in which a nontoxic polymer is injected into the vas deferens, sterilizing sperm. Now there’s another birth control procedure for men that’s proving its mettle in Chinese laboratories. We’ll let Popular Science explain:

The method requires researchers to inject male mice in the testes with a mixture containing nano-size rods of gold. (I feel like there’s a rap song in here somewhere.) Then they aim an infrared laser at the testes, which heats the nano-gold inside. At just the right temperature, the testes are warmed enough to kill sperm cells, but not enough to kill the cells that make new sperm. The sperm death lasts for a certain amount of time.

Are you ready to have microscopic bars of gold injected into your balls in the name of science? Not so fast. Resarchers are still testing on mice, so human trials could be a ways off.

Google Says No To Glass Porn

1

by thepleasurechest

glassman

Well, that was fast. Just a few days after it was reported that a Seattle-based company was developing porn for Google Glass, the tech giant has announced a ban on adult-oriented apps for their new space-age goggles.

“We don’t allow Glassware content that contains nudity, graphic sex acts or sexually explicit material,” according to Google’s Glass platform developer policies, which were updated Saturday to offer more information about what developers can and cannot do with the software they make for Glass, which Google refers to as “Glassware.”

It’s not clear what this means for the future of porn on Google Glass. MiKandi’s representative said in response to the new policy, “We’re not going to just stop. We have to think about our next strategy.”

Meanwhile, Pinterest is relaxing its ban on nudity. We wonder if this means we can repost that dildo photo they took down last month.

Google Glass Porn is Coming

3

by thepleasurechest

glass

It’s common knowledge that if you give people a new technology, they’ll immediately start using it for porn. So no one should be surprised that Google Glass porn is already in production. Google’s “augmented reality” glasses seem ideal for giving viewers a “you are there” POV experience. A company called Mikandi is already experimenting with the new medium. Mikandi co-founder Jennifer McEwen told Violet Blue:

Being hands-free and hassle-free is a simple but big difference Glass has over other similar devices. It’s so easy and familiar to wear, that from a shooter’s perspective it feels like you’re recording with your own eyes. Because it feels so natural, you can forget about the technology and just be in the moment.

On top of that, with Glass you can share and interact with fans and followers, allowing them intimate access to your experiences. It’s like being John Malkovich where you’re viewing the world through someone else’s eyes.

But is the world ready for Being James Deen? Blue wonders if Google will embrace the porn possibilities of their new toy or follow Apple’s example and try to keep their cool new toy squeaky clean.

Repin to Win a We-Vibe Thrill

by thepleasurechest

thrillIt’s National Masturbation Month and we’re celebrating in all of the usual ways, with music, storytelling and prizes provided by We-Vibe. Though they’re famous for the groundbreaking couples’ toy, the folks at We-Vibe are also making amazing toys for solo play.

For example, check out the ingenious We-Vibe Thrill. It’s modeled after the original We-Vibe design, but optimized for play without a partner. Thrill fits snugly in the vagina, providing firm and focused G-Spot stimulation, while the outer part rests against the clitoris. Use the ergonomic handle to find the perfect position and the single button control to choose from 8 modes of deeply satisfying vibrations.

Thrill is 100% waterproof, so you can take it in the shower or bath. It charges via USB (that’s right, you can plug it into your laptop) and is fully charged in just 90 minutes. It doesn’t even look like a vibrator, so it makes a wonderfully stealthy travel toy. Finally, while Thrill is the ideal masturbation device, we can also imagine enjoying this toy with a friend. It leaves your hands free to roam yourself or your partner.

How to Win a We-Vibe Thrill

Want to get a Thrill?

Simply log in to your Pinterest account and repin the We-Vibe Thrill to one of your boards. On Friday, May 24th, we’ll pick one repin at random to win the Thrill. It’s that easy!

The Orgasmatron

by thepleasurechest

In Woody Allen’s 1973 comedy Sleeper, “The Orgasmatron” was a futuristic machine that gave instant sexual pleasure to its users. A couple would step inside and emerge moments later, disheveled and satisfied.

Dr. Stuart Meloy thinks he may have discovered a real life Orgasmatron. Originally developed as a spinal cord stimulator for pain relief, Meloy’s device has also proven effective at triggering orgasmic responses in men and women. Here’s how i09 described it back in 2008.

orgasmatronA small box about the size of an Altoids tin is attached to two thin wires that snake under your skin and attach to the nerves in your spine responsible for sexual pleasure. Send electricity through the wires, stimulate the nerves, and watch the hot results.

Of course, the downside to this Orgasmatron is that you’ll need to have it surgically-implanted in your body. But as the video above suggests, it may not be long before a wireless version is invented. In the meantime, may we suggest the most reliable Orgasmatron we know of?

Dildology

by thepleasurechest

laboratoryEver wonder if that “phthalate-free dildo” you purchased is really phthalate-free? Or if that silicone vibrator you’ve got your eye on is 100% silicone?  Meet Dildology, a new nonprofit organization founded by 3 folks with a passion for sex toys and a healthy skepticism about manufacturers’ claims. As sex toy reviewer and Dildology co-founder Dangerous Lilly explains:

I’m not the first person in this industry who has wished for access to a lab to test for material purity, phthalates, etc. I’m just the first sex toy reviewer who actually said “I’m doing this, NOW”.

Dildology is collecting adult toys from a variety of manufacturers and sending them to an accredited lab to verify what materials they’re made from. They’ve already kicked things off with a test of Jimmyjane’s Hello Touchand found that it’s 100% silicone as advertised.

To read their mission statement and donate money or toys to Dildology, check out their website.

Doc Johnson: Made in America

by thepleasurechest

docjohnson

It is here, in this cavernous warehouse vibrating with the hums and murmurs of a bustling 500-person workforce, that one of the last bastions of old-fashioned American manufacturing labors on, using 2.5 million pounds of rubber per year to churn out a staggering 15,000 sex toys per eight-hour day, which amounts to 5 million a year. Dongs, cock rings, dick pumps, pocket pussies, strokers, suckers, strap-ons, ticklers, teasers, vibrators, ropes, whips, ball gags, anal invaders, pussy trainers, and “love spit ” lubricant pour out of here at a rate that would wow Henry Ford.

Buzzfeed offers a fascinating peek inside the factory (and history) of legendary adult toymaker Doc Johnson.

Sex Toy Races Are the New Poker

0

by thepleasurechest

stronicrace

In February, we posted a video of the first ever sex toy race, showing off the unique thrusting motion of the Fun Factory Stronic. The event was one of the highlights of the toy’s Valentine’s Day debut at the Museum of Sex in New York.  A few weeks ago, Fun Factory brought the action to the International Lingerie Show in Las Vegas, hosting a series of races in an exclusive gaming spot overlooking the storied Strip. High rollers placed their chips on one of four Stronics as they wiggled and thrusted across the green felt poker tables.

Yes, Stronic races happened in Vegas, but they’re not staying there. This fall, we’ll be hosting our own Stronic races right here in the West Hollywood store. For now, there’s this great video showing some of the highlights from the Vegas games. If you want to get your hands on a Stronic, you’re in luck. We’ve got displays ready for play at each of our stores.
