The Pleasure Chest Pride RideSaturday, June 2nd!

1

by thepleasurechest

Ruffle your rainbows and grab your glitter! It’s The Pleasure Chest Pride Ride taking you on a tour celebrating all things queer as a three dollar bill! We’ll hone in on some of West Hollywood’s historic homo spots, give away fantastic prizes and encounter some exotic personalities along the route, who are sure to tickle your tinkerbell.

  • Easy ride with no big hills
  • Bike mechanic & route slips provided
  • Afterparty at the Pleasure Chest w/ snacks, drinks & free ice cream & tunes from Sweet Beats!
  • Costume contest

Special prizes will be awarded for those sporting the MOST Leather, the MOST Rainbow and a special category of the “MOST GAY PROUD”, whatever that means. Feel free to interpret creatively. Of course, the more scantilly clad you are… we might just invent a special prize for you on the spot. It’s almost summer, after all.

Sound fun?

We’ll gather at the The Pleasure Chest on Saturday, June 2nd at 1:30 pm. The tour begins at 2pm and will last approximately 2 hours. Then, stay for the afterparty at The Pleasure Chest, with snacks and drinks and ice cream provided by Sweet Beats. If you’re planning to enjoy the afterparty, be prepared to lock your bike outside or pack it in your vehicle before joining us for the festivities.

Time Capsule Videos for LGBTQ Youth

by thepleasurechest

This is cool! You’ve probably seen plenty of It Gets Better videos and many versions of the Shit People Say meme. But today, we came across two viral videos on the web that make a great double bill of inspiration for LGBTQ youth.

First up, young members of the Illinois Safe Schools Alliance record video messages for their 40 year-old selves. Then, watch members of the Canadian group Get Real send messages to their 7th grade selves.
