3D Cybersex is Here

3D cybersex

Sexting is so last year. Soon, you’ll be able to use Chathouse3D, a cybersex program that will allow its users to act out their dirty talk using 3D avatars. It looks a bit like The Sims, with a lot of hardcore sex. Users will be able to interact with each other, or go into “voyeur mode,” which will allow them to watch other users’ sex scenes, with or without being seen.

Chathouse3D is designed to be used with the (truly massive) Oculus Rift virtual reality headset, for the full 3D experience.  You can check out a video of both the headset and the game itself, or even sign up to be a beta tester, here. (NSFW times a million.)

Triad: A Poly Puzzle Game

by thepleasurechest

Sharing a bed is already hard enough for just two people. But what happens when there’s a third person in the mix? And what if the cat wants to snuggle too? Now there’s a game to try your skill at solving this problem. Triad, created by Anna Anthropy and Leon Arnott, turns this poly puzzle into a nifty video game. It’s kind of like Tetris for threesomes.  Check it out!

If I Had a Hammer…

by thepleasurechest

How strong are your kegels? Kristen of the Toymaker Project has modified a Feeldoe to create “The Hammer,” a light up dildo that measures the strength of your vaginal or anal muscles. It’s pretty cool.

The Hammer totally reminds us of one of those old “test your strength” penny arcade games. It looks like a neat way to build your kegels and measure your progress. Until the Hammer becomes available for your toolbox, check out the toys we sell for building kegel strength and prostate health.

Thanks to Manny for the tip!

Scenes from AVN

The Pleasure Chest went to Las Vegas last weekend for the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo and Awards. We were nominated for Best Retail Boutique. And while we lost to the very worthy Good Vibrations, a few of us were big winners at the blackjack tables.

[Galleries 6 not found]

Another big winner at the awards was Kandi Burruss, who won the AVN prize for Best Overall Toy Line for Bedroom Kandi, her line made in partnership with OhMiBod. Kandi will be in our LA store on Sunday to discuss the toys and give a workshop with some of her favorite sex tips. The event is open to everyone, but seating is first come, first served.

While in Las Vegas, we also spent two days shooting video interviews with toy makers and sex educators, explaining their products and giving their favorite tips and funniest stories from working in the adult industry. Look for those videos to start hitting our How To page in the next few weeks!

We devoted the rest of our time to strolling the convention floor checking out new products. Our gallery above includes some of the oddest sights and most unusual items we saw.

Among our favorites was this Violet Wand from Dr. Clockwork. Here’s a video with the mad doctor at work. Would you like to see this electrifying toy on display at The Pleasure Chest? Let us know!

We Dare. Turn On or Buzz Off?

0

by thepleasurechest

In our last poll, we asked readers to sound off on the Pangao Breast Enhancer. The infamous vibrating bra got very little support. Most of you hated this gadget, and couldn’t wait to get it off of your chests! Only a pair of voters were hooked. So long, Pangao Breast Enhancer, and thanks for the… (No, we can’t even go there. Some puns are unmentionable.)

This week’s contestant on Turn On or Buzz Off is for the swingers among you.  Wanna put the “game” back in non-monogamy? Sick of the same old key parties? Check out We Dare, an adults only game for the Nintendo Wii and PS3.

Here’s the come-on:

“We Dare is a sexy, quirky party game that offers a large variety of hilarious, innovative and physical, sometimes kinky, challenges. The more friends you invite to the party, the saucier the game!”

“Use the Wii-mote and PS3 Move controller in unbelievable ways, as you’ve never imagined before…wave it around to the beat of your favourite tunes, old and new…put it in your pocket and act-out flirtatious actions…balance it to navigate precarious challenges…sometimes co-operative hugging helps, and it certainly doesn’t hurt. Enjoy the unique gameplay designed for the use of these motion controllers exclusively for We Dare.”

Ah yes, “cooperative hugging”– the first step to a successful orgy. Whatever happened to a couple bottles of wine and a game of strip poker?

Judging from its now infamous commercial, We Dare is aiming for a demographic that doesn’t already hang out at swing clubs or poly munches. It’s apparently being marketed to straight, vanilla couples as a fun way to ease in to partner swapping, with some light spanking, sofa snuggling, trivia and other games. In this sense, it reminds us a lot of the old school “icebreaker” board games like 7 Deadly Sins or Sexy Slang.

Even though the ad looks a bit cheesy (OK, like a big hunk of cheddar with a slice of Velveeta on top), the truth is we can imagine playing We Dare with the right group of friends. But what about you? Whether you’re a novice at non-monogamy or a seasoned swinger, we want to know what you think. Would you swap Pictionary (and your partner) for a night with We Dare?

Editor’s note: We realize that we’re playing fast and loose with some different terms here. For an excellent primer on the difference between polyamory and swinging, we recommend this video by Ms. Nina Hartley.
