How to Introduce a Sex Toy
There can often be a lot of sensitivity around suggesting adding a sex toy into your play. I’m pretty sure we’ve all vibed out or had some self-stim at some point, but introducing a new toy to your partner play can sometimes be a touchy subject. Or maybe you and your partner are at the point where you want to advance and broaden your play. Either way, we’ll touch on how to introduce a sex toy and also brush up on how to do it safely.
Say Hello to My Little Friend.
Or big…whatever floats your boat. Either way, communication is key when introducing a new toy. Whether you’re interested in electro play or having fantasies about that cute little vibe, it’s probably best to start with a convo about what each of your desires are. You can even incorporate talking about it into your foreplay. In most cases, it’s best to approach with a positive, open mind. Remember, sexuality can be an extremely sensitive topic for some of us, so navigate with caution and care. If someone is into something that you aren’t, respect their desires and don’t shut them down with shame.
Whether you’ve hit a plateau with your partner or just want to expand your play, the bottom line is sex toys can be a great tool in helping spice things up, achieve orgasm, and even in becoming multi-orgasmic. Below are some suggestions and links to our fave couples toys, resources on how to use them, and practices for playing it safe.
Couples Toys
The good news is, there are many products on the market geared towards couple’s play, and some of our fave couple’s toys incorporate pleasure for both giver and receiver. In addition to our Curated Couples Kits, we really like the We-Vibe Unite and Sync which feature hands-free, remote-controlled vibration satisfaction for both partners. Join the band with the Fun Factory Amorino which wraps around the entire vulva, transmitting rumbling vibration to the inner labia and often-neglected clitoral legs. We also adore the Je Joue Mio, a multi-rhythmic vibrator of adjustable intensities that fits snugly over a penis or dildo and can be used to enhance both solo and partner play.
