Autostraddle recently featured a list of places where hookups might be found. One of the favorites? Sex ed workshops. We couldn't agree more! To our delight (and relief) the article included some tips and caveats for approaching a cutie you meet at your local sex shop's G-spotting class. From The Single Queer’s Guide To Meeting Someone To Have Sex With by Tieara:
'You could always feel free to share some of your experiences, listen in on others' experiences or ask a group of people for a few extra tips. Opening yourself up to discussions might help you catch the attention of a woman who peaks your interests.
Remember that sex-ed spaces are often meant as fun, safe spaces where it's okay to talk about sex freely, and that respecting and maintaining the value of that safe space may mean being discreet about your attraction. Also, be cautious with asking too many personal questions about someone's sexuality and sex life, unless she brings it up first.'
If the worst case scenario is that you pick up some new skills for when you do have someone to use them on, we still call that a win. You can find our upcoming workshops here.
The Autostraddle article is aimed at queer women, but a lot of the tips can be adapted to suit anyone. Read it here.
