This one doesn't quite make sense until you see it in person. The smaller leaf (or arm? or shaft? wtf do you call that?) is quite flexible, not stiff. So you kinda pull that back and then insert the larger one and then the smaller one gently rests on the clit. Does that make sense?!! Well it makes sense when you use it!
