#AnalAugust is HERE!!!

Celebrate with us! We’ll be opening up all month long about the most taboo topic on the pleasure spectrum - Anal Sex.

Whether you’re in it, on it, or literally just skirting around it, opening up around Anal play can take some time and communication, and not to mention relaxation. We want to make sure that you have all the tools you need to understand the full palette of Anal Play. We'll have special guest blogs all month about pleasure, pain, and all the possibilities of the prostate.

Want to go deeper? Ask any of our in-store Sex Specialists for beginner to advanced toy recs or take one of our free workshops and discover your own desires, learn tools of the trade, how to propose it to your partner, cleanliness and why anal sex can be extremely enjoyable for everyone.

We’re not here to just sell toys, we want you to know which are the right toys for you, the different ways to use them, from their basic uses to more advanced, and even how to think outside the box and queer your sex. We are proud to provide a sex positive, judgment-free space to explore these aspects and to ask any questions, especially around anal sex, which still seems to have it's many misconceptions.

Common misconceptions of anal play

Guest educators Ducky DooLittle and Tristan Taormino dispel a few common myths:

'Anal sex is not taboo for everyone, but it may be taboo to some for various moral or emotional reasons. For example, some people believe the primary purpose for having sex is to procreate. Other people fear it will be messy or don’t want to come in contact with any potential poop. Some guys fear that if they enjoy anal sex, it might mean they are homosexual. Still other people believe it will be painful'.

'Studies show more people are opening up their minds and bodies to anal play and that up to 45% of young people have experimented with anal sex. In other words, it's less taboo than ever'. - Ducky DooLittle

I mean, you did read the Anal Sex article in last year's Teen Vogue right? It's called progress, people!

'Anal Sex: What You Need to Know' Guide from Teen Vogue

Guest Educator and Sex Specialist Tristan Taormino has a few more anal sex misconceptions to share:

Toys & Joys

Wait, that goes where? That's a good question, and one that's asked so often, we've named a class after it. If you're intimidated by the wide spectrum of anal products and toys, don't worry, we've got you covered. We've got a huge selection of butt plugs, prostate massagers, pegging harnesses (what's pegging you ask? We'll explain that too!), anal cleaning products, and lube for your anal odyssey.

The End is Just the Beginning

'It’s true that anal sex is not for everyone, but just to be clear, enjoying anal sex will not make you gay and has nothing to do with sexual orientation. Plenty of healthy straight men find pleasure in the practice. Plus, if your body is healthy, there is little chance of any mess. And when done well, anal sex should never hurt. Ultimately, each person will have their own reasons for wanting to try anal sex or shunning the practice. I say it’s your body, so do what makes you feel good. If that happens to be anal sex, then go for it'. - Ducky DooLittle
